Olean- Albert E. Sega, a lifelong Olean resident, passed away Sunday (December 4, 2022) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born February 22, 1937, in Olean, he was the son of the late, James and Gisella Campagnari Sega.
Albert was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from the United States Postal Service after nearly 40 years of service. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean.
Albert is survived by; his nieces and nephews, Darryl (Debbie) Campagnari, Joanne (Ric predeceased) Corwin, Kathleen (John) Lutz, Joseph (Janice) Capito, Dominic (Sheila) Capito, and Theresa (Rocky) Weitzel; he is also survived by 13 great- nieces and nephews and 21 great- great nieces and nephews.
His family would like to say a very special thank-you to all of Albert’s caretakers, Kay Reynolds, Heather Muhyee, and Lalia White. As well as his neighbor, Andy Hatch. Their kindness and compassion for Albert allowed him to stay in his home where he loved watching his New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (December 16, 2022) at 10am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
