Alexander J. “Alex” Nemeth

Alexander J. “Alex” Nemeth- 71, of Bradford, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Olean General Hospital.

Born in Hungary on September 26, 1952, he was the son of the late Janos and Irene Nemeth. Alex’s church, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, sponsored his family so they could come to the United States, shortly after he turned four and the passing of his two younger brothers. On May 22, 2021, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bradford, Alex married the love of his life, Marilou Filips, who survives.

For most of his life, Alex was passionate about his love for Christ and working on military radios. While dedicated to his job at Harris in Rochester, he still made going to church a priority. Alex served at Emmanuel as an assistant Minister, communion distributor, lector videographer, building and property chairperson, and member of the congregation council.

Alex also loved spending time with his friends by going on annual camping trips, that would give him stories to tell for years after.

Family and friends will be received for visitation and remembrances at 10 a.m. July 20, 2024 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 152 Seaward Ave., Bradford, with a Celebration of Alex’s life starting at 11 a.m. with Vicar John Kearns presiding.
