Ann M. Whiteman

Olean- Ann Marie Whiteman of Olean, passed away Wednesday (October 18,2023) at the Olean General Hospital.

Born in Olean on February 21, 1933, she was the daughter of Anthony and Anna Stomieroski Lyaski.  On July 29, 1951 in Olean, she married Ralph E. Whiteman, who passed away February 1, 1980.

Ann graduated from Olean High School and began her working career including Grant City, the Service Store in North Olean and Community Bank. She later worked for the city, at the city parking booth, behind the Community Bank.

Ann was a lifetime member and past president of the St. Stephens Club Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time, she was an avid bowler, loved playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Ann always enjoyed visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her children, James (Barbara) Whiteman, Mark (Kim) Whiteman, Brian (Jennifer) Whiteman and Susan King; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; a daughter in-law Mary Ellen Whiteman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ralph; and a son, Thomas Whiteman.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street Olean on Monday (October 23, 2023) from 10am-12pm. Funeral services will begin at 12pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
