Anne M. Hoak, loving wife, mother, and grandmother
Portville – Anne M. Hoak of Portville passed away at home on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Born November 16, 1958, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda Gibbons. On July 19, 1980, she married Ernest L. Hoak, who survives.
Anne was a graduate of Portville Central School. In her early years of marriage, Anne went on the road with her husband who drove truck. She was able to visit many cities across the United States. Once Anne and Ernest had children, she enjoyed staying home to raise them. After her children were grown, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and listening to their endless stories.
Anne is survived by her husband Ernest of Portville; a son, Jonathan S. Hoak of Portville; a daughter, Megan J. (Robert Snyder) Hoak of Portville; brothers, James (Linda) Gibbons of Port Jefferson Station, Michael J. Gibbons of Portville, John P. Gibbons of Portville; a sister, Patricia A. (Daniel) Coble of Conesus Lake; five grandchildren: Eric, Zoey, Daisy, Isabelle, and Evan; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a niece, Amanda.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday (April 30, 2024) at the Oratory of the Sacred Heart Church in Portville. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
