Obituary

West Clarksville- Annette M. Zelko a longtime resident of West Clarksville, entered into eternal life on Monday (September 5, 2022) with her loving husband of 56 years at her bedside and surrounded by other family members.

Born in Bradford, PA., on July 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late, H. Alton Yohe and the late Annettie Ford Lounsbury. On October 10, 1964, in Olean, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Zelko.

Mrs. Zelko attended schools in Bradford, PA and Los Angeles, CA., prior to graduating from Allegany Central School in 1960. She later attended Olean Business Institute majoring in General Business. She had been employed by several businesses in the Salamanca and Olean areas as an office manager.

Mrs. Zelko attended West Clarksville Baptist Church.  She was former member of the Clarksville Fire Department serving as Secretary and Radio Operator for several years. She had also been a member of its Auxiliary.  She had been Chaplain of the Allegany County Fire Police and a life member of the New York State Firefighters Association.

She enjoyed the outdoors, family, friends, crafts, puzzles, e-mails, and life. Mrs. Zelko collected stories, poems, and verses about Christmas.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Brian (Helen) Zelko of West Clarksville, Paul (Melanie) Zelko of Nashville, TN., and Ted (Kristina) Zelko of Bradford, PA; three brothers, Dennis Yohe and Ken (Becky) Yohe both of Bradford, PA., and Darin Yohe of Ashville; two sisters, Cheri (Randy) Kunselman of Streetsboro, OH and Leanna Yohe of Alaska; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville on Thursday from 5-7pm and again on Friday (September 9, 2022) from 2-3pm.  Funeral services will begin at 3pm at the funeral home. Rev. David Cook, pastor of the Obi Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date, and at the convenience of the family.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Obi Community Church, 1948 Route 305, Cuba or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
