Anthony L. Torre

NAPLES, FL --- Anthony L. Torre, 98, a former Olean resident passed away at Seascape-Naples in Naples, Florida on November 4, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Louise Torre, and brothers Louis, Joseph, and sisters Viola Torre and Rose Riggi. Family members request that those who remember Tony, keep him in your prayers and memories especially those who had opportunities to play golf with “Down the Middle” Tony at his beloved Bartlett Country Club.

As a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, he served in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II. Yes, one of the few left of The Greatest Generation and he had many stories to tell about his wartime experiences.

Tony graduated from Columbia University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. He then opened a Physical Therapy practice in 1953 serving the communities of Olean and Wellsville, and Bradford, PA. After 47 years in practice, he retired to Naples, Florida.

Surviving members of his family include Daughter, Antonia E. Wozmak (Mark) of Escondido, CA., Grandsons: Andrew F. Wozmak of Escondido, CA. and Dr. Nicolas A. (Amy) Wozmak and Great Grandson, Theodore D. Wozmak of Benicia, CA. Other family members include the Riggi family of Scotia, N. Y.
