Anthony "Tony" Kosinski Obituary

Olean- Anthony M. “Tony” Kosinski, of Olean, passed away peacefully on Saturday (January 16, 2021) after a lengthy illness.

Born March 31, 1936 in Olean, he was the son of the late, Valentine and Mary Skrypczak Kosinski. On June 7, 1958, at the former Transfiguration Church in Olean, he married Patricia McGraw, who survives.

Anthony was a graduate of St. John Kanty High School in Erie, PA., Class of 1952 and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  After his service with the military, Anthony went to work for Clark Bros/ Dresser-Rand in Olean, and retired after 42 years of service.

He was a former parishioner of Transfiguration Church and a member of the Pulaski Club, Stephen’s Club, and St. Bonaventure golf course. He was an avid golfer and played for several years on Wednesday night Dresser golf league. He was an avid Buffalo Sabres fan, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years; one daughter, Deborah (Steven) Whipple of Big Flats, one son David (Teri) Kosinski of Olean; grandchildren, Hillary, Robert, Kayleah, and Korry; one brother, William “Bill” (Brenda) Kosinski; three sisters, Nancy (Donald) Schifley, Helen (Robert) Apthorpe, Jan (Paul) Carll; sister-in-law, Diane Walters; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

He was predeceased by one brother, Jerome Kosinski; one sister-in-law, Lucy; and two brothers-in-law, James and Chuck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held St. John’s Catholic Church, on Friday (January 29, 2021) at 10:30am. Friends and family will also be able to view the service online, go to St. John the Evangelist Parish Olean Facebook page.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.

Memorials if desired, may be made to the Marie Lorenz Dialysis Center, 623 Main Street, Olean or to the Pulaski Club Building Fund, 1104 N. Union Street, Olean.
