Antonina “Toni” Sobotkowski
Columbus, Ohio- Antonina “Toni” Sobotkowski, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2024, at the Arlington Court Nursing Home in Columbus, OH.
Toni was born in Wilno, Poland on January 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Jadviga Skinder. On April 17, 1942, in her hometown of Wilno, she married Walenty Sobotkowski, who predeceased her on November 25, 1994.
Toni, Walenty and their son, Stanley, immigrated to the U.S., in 1951, settling in New Jersey. She worked at the Quinn & Boden Book Bindery in Rahway, NJ., for over twenty years. Toni retired in 1978 to be a full-time grandmother. They moved to and settled in Olean in 1992. She was a member of the Transfiguration Church in Olean, the Pulaski Club, and also a member of The Red Hat Ladies for many years.
Toni is survived by her son, Stanley (Jeannine) Sobotkowski of Dublin, OH; two grandsons, John Sobotkowski of San Diego, CA and Mark Sobotkowski of Dublin, OH.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walenty; and her parents, Sigmund and Jadviga; her siblings, Stasha, Maria and step brother Karl.
Family and friends will be received from 12 - 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 East State Street, Olean. Funeral service will start at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
