Audrey Burke (Rucinski)

Audrey passed away on February 18, 2025. 

Audrey was born in Olean. She married Thomas Burke at Transfiguration Church in Olean, and lived in many cities across the U.S., with Alpharetta, GA being home for the past 25 years. Audrey spent her entire nursing career as a dedicated OR nurse and Nurse Manager, retiring from Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  She was a kind and giving person to her family, friends, and everyone she knew, especially in her role as a Nurse.

She is survived by her niece and goddaughter, Erin (Sean Doherty) Mooney; siblings, Mary Fenstermaker, Michele (Allen) Thach, Karen Kowiak, Michael (Lynn) Rucinski, and Mark (Michelle) Rucinski; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Thomas M. Burke; parents, Michael & Sophia Rucinski; sister, Trish Mooney, brother-in-law, Richard Mooney; brother-in-law, Charles Fenstermaker; and cat, Gabbie.

Audrey’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels (202 S. Union St.) on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
