Barbara A. Jaeger

Olean- Barbara A. Jaeger, of Olean, passed away peacefully on Friday (October 20, 2023) at The Pines of Olean, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 16, 1928, in Olean, she was the daughter of Sanford and Mildred Mallery. On May 20, 1950, at the First Methodist Church in Olean, she married Alwin H. Jaeger, who passed on October 14, 1992.

Barb graduated from Olean High School and went on to work for NY Telephone and St. Francis Hospital as a switchboard operator. She enjoyed reading, going to local craft shows, and shopping on QVC. Her dog, Chloe, was a favored companion.

Survivors include Debra (David) Augostini of Allegany, Linda (John) Butler of Olean, Sharon (William) Sick of NC. and Michael (Christina) Jaeger of Olean; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one nephew; and one cousin.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Alwin, and two grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (October 25, 2023) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
