Allegany- Bernard J. “Butch” Malick of 2250 Sheldon Drive, Allegany, passed away Saturday (December 26, 2020) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born March 2, 1934 in Olean, he was the son of the late, Leo and Marth Kunkel Malick. On August 6, 1955 in Transfiguration Church, he married Rita Robak, who predeceased him on December 6, 2015.
Butch served with the United States Army. He worked for many years as a financial manager for Dresser Rand in Olean.
Butch attended the former Transfiguration church in Olean and was a member of the Olean Knights of Columbus Council #338. He enjoyed reading, fixing things, golfing, and taking care of his family.
Surviving is one son, Michael Malick of Olean; two grandchildren, Joshua (Aubree) Malick of Olean, Natalie Malick of Rochester; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jameson, and Griffin; one brother; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Malick.
Private funeral services will be held at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 E. State Street, Olean. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
Memorials, if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
