Olean- Brandon M. Hill of Olean passed away Friday (June 16, 2023) as a result of injuries sustained at work.
Born April 23, 1992, in Olean, he is survived by his father Ronald (Lisa) Hill of Portville and his parents Kelly (Sean) Crandall of Olean.
Brandon was a graduate of Portville Central School, class of 2010, and served in the United States Army from 2012-2022. Throughout his military career, he received numerous merits, certifications, and commendations. He was very proud of achieving Sapper Tab, Ranger Tab, and Jungle Tab. Following his Honorable Discharge as a Drill Sergeant, Brandon attended Southeast Lineman Training Center in Georgia, where he graduated as a lineman in April of 2023.
At the age of 2, Brandon started fishing with his dad. They shared a bond and many life lessons on the water as they fished in many tournaments. Brandon was later awarded Angler of the Year and New York State Jr. Bassmaster Champion. He also loved to hunt, work out, make people laugh, and listen to country music. Most of all, Brandon loved spending time with his family, and friends. He will be remembered as a hard-working, determined, independent, and strong-willed man.
In addition to his parents, Brandon is survived by; one brother Nicholas (Keri); his grandparents, Leonard and Beverly Blakeslee, and grandmother Jill Hill; a special Aunt, Kimberly (Chris) McCullin; his aunt Traci Hirliman; many cousins including his special cousin, Noah Bartholomew. He is also survived by his girlfriend and soulmate Shaina Griffin and his beloved dog, whom he rescued, Buddy. Brandon was very fortunate to have amazing and supportive friends throughout his childhood and into his adulthood whom he loved very much.
He was predeceased by; his paternal grandparents Stewart and Elizabeth Hill and one aunt, Kathy (Kevin) Weimer.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean from 3-7 pm on Friday. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (June 24, 2023) at 10:30 am. Dr. Rev. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, with full military honors.
