Bruce M. Greene

Portville- Bruce M. Greene, of 326 Pleasant Acre Drive, Portville, passed away Monday (October 24, 2022) at the Olean General Hospital.

Born February 28, 1941, in Hillsdale, Michigan, he was the son of the late, Lloyd and Ruth Sarles Greene.  He married the former Phyllis Allen, who survives.

Mr. Greene received his Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University.  He worked as a quality control manager for many companies throughout his career and locally for AVX Corporation.

He was a longtime bass player and loved listening to music and collecting records.  He also enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales, and restoring antique clocks.

Besides his wife, Bruce is survived by; five children, Kathy Wolff of Olean, Bruce (Robin) Greene of Ohio, Wendy Marcellin of Olean, Jeff Greene of California, and Melissa Greene of New York; one brother, Christy Greene of Florida; one sister, Toni White of Florida; four step-children, Terry (Tami) Grantier of Elbridge, Shelly Grantier of Wellsville, Randy (Melissa) Grantier of Wellsville, and Collin (Tina) Chadwick of Fort Mills, SC; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Cattaraugus County Meals on Wheels, 1 Leo Moss Drive, Olean or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6400 Sheridan Drive, Suite 320, Amherst, NY 14221.
