OLEAN --- Carol A. Elwood, of Godfrey Hollow Road, passed away Monday (April 24, 2023) at her home.
Born March 27, 1946, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late, Walter and Cecelia Kukulka Rogosienski. On August 27, 1966, she married Robert C. Elwood, who predeceased her on August 9, 2007.
Carol was a graduate of Olean High School and worked as Dr. Ratanawongsa’s assistant for many years. She was a longtime member of the New Apostolic Church and enjoyed going to garage sales, the Bridge Thrift Shop, and playing cards with her friends. She also loved going to the beach, sitting out in the sun, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Eddy of Olean, and Connie Sattano of Fla; five grandchildren, Allison, Brittany, Clarice, Suzzette, and Sarah; seven great-grandchildren, Aidan, Rango, Austin, Bentley, Sophia, Cheyenne, and Zoey; one sister, Theresa Tierson; one brother, John (Terry) Rogosienski of Olean; two sisters-in-law, Helen Rogosienski and Barb Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one grandson, Robert V. Herrmann, and two brothers, Joseph Rogosienski and Walter Rogosienski, Jr.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street on Monday (May 1, 2023) from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
