Charles F. "Chuck" Kwiatkowski

 Olean- Charles F. “Chuck” Kwiatkowski, Jr., 85 of Johnson Road, passed away peacefully Friday (August 13, 2021) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.

Born April 13, 1936 in Olean, he was the only son of Charles and Elizabeth Krummel Kwiatkowski Stomierosky.  On May 12, 1962 in St. John’s Church in Olean, he married Rose Mary Convey, who survives.

Chuck was a graduate of Olean High School.   He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1954 and served honorably as part of a peace keeping mission in the 2nd Marine Division 4.2 Mortar Co. He received the good conduct medal and was honorably discharged in 1957.

He was employed for Dresser Rand Clark Bros in Olean, retiring after thirty-six years of service.  Chuck was a past parishioner of the former Transfiguration Church in Olean, and a current parishioner at St. John’s Church.  He was the secretary of the Pulaski Club for forty years and an avid Buffalo Bills fan.  He loved reading and gardening especially maintaining his rose bushes.

In addition to his wife of almost 60 years; Chuck is survived by two children; Charles (Kathleen) Kwiatkowski, III., of Olean and Laura (David) Berlinski of Allegany; five grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Kwiatkowski; and Mychal, Max, and Molly Berlinski; two step-sisters, Gloria Tansey of Annandale, VA and Connie DellaPietra of Palmyra, VA.

He was predeceased many step-siblings.

Friends will be received at St. John’s Catholic Church, 931 N. Union Street, Olean on Wednesday (August 18, 2021) from 9am-11am. A memorial mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery and at the convenience of the family.
