Portville- Daniel H. Coleman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather died on February 7, 2021, at the age of 84 at Olean General Hospital. Dan was preceded in death by the loving people that raised him, Miller and Frances Coleman, his beloved daughter, Dara Kay Coleman and granddaughter, Danielle Coleman.
Dan is survived by his precious wife of over 26 years, Myrna, sons Mitchell Lewis Coleman (Ann) and their children, Dara, Mitch, and McCord; Jon Morgan Coleman; Gregory Allen Coleman and his children Matthew, Anthony, and Seth; Thomas Duke Coleman (Anya) and his daughter Krystal; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Dan was known as an expert Title analyst and a collector of vintage items including antique tools and pottery. Dan loved people and enjoyed talking to everyone he met. Dan’s deep love and appreciation for the beauty in God’s world was evidenced by the care he took in the flowers and gardens that he and Myrna planted all over their property. He loved all of God’s people and left a lasting impression wherever he went, whether he was singing to the people sitting next to him in a restaurant or in the choir at church. Though he will be dearly missed, his next singing engagement is in God’s heavenly choir. Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dan’s memory to Wounded Warriors project or St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.
