Darlene K. Peterson Russi beloved wife and loving mother

Olean- Darlene K.  Russi of Olean, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (December 12, 2023) at Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness.

Darlene was born on September 19, 1945 in the Kane, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Virginia Peterson.  On November 30, 1968, at the St. Bonaventure University Chapel, she married Dominic M. Russi, who survives.

Darlene was a graduate of Kane High School and then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Clarion State College. Darlene was an elementary school teacher for School #5 in Olean and then School #77 in Buffalo.  She was known to her family as a Domestic Goddess and a Magnificent Mom.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dominic; her children, Kristen R. Russi and Dominic V. Russi; a loving sister, Colleen M. Buzard; a nephew, Jeff and a niece, Heather; and her two Great Pyrenees children, Louie and Mia.

A memorial service will be held Monday (December 18, 2023) at 1pm at the University Chapel of St. Bonaventure University.
