Cuba- David D. Carleton, of Linwood Drive, Cuba, passed away Thursday (February 17, 2022) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born June 9, 1959, in Olean, he was the son of the late, Dwight L. and Sylvia Fitch Carleton. In 1977 at Christ United Methodist Church, he married Mary J. Cucchiaro, who survives.
David was a graduate of Portville Central School. After graduating, he went to work for his parents who owned Dewey White’s. He later worked for Southern Tier Moving Company in Olean, where he logged almost a million miles, traveling across the country during his 32 years of employment.
David was an avid NASCAR Fan and enjoyed traveling to watch the races. He also loved, camping, family cookouts, and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by; two sons Christopher (Amanda) Carleton of Olean and Jeffrey Carleton of Cuba; seven grandchildren, Brionna Carleton, Amaya Britt, Domonic Carleton, Simon Carleton, Nathaniel Carleton, Andrew Carleton, and Hunter Carleton; two great grandchildren, Tucker and Brynleigh Carleton; two sisters, Judith Davis and Diane (Keith) Mosher; and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by; one brother-in-law, Jerry Davis.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral services will be held on Friday (February 25, 2022) at 11am in the funeral home. Rev. Kim Rossi, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
