Olean-David J. Fidurko passed away on July 1, 2023, shortly upon arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born in Olean on December 30, 1954, to Edward and Theresa (Dombeck) Fidurko.
A graduate of Olean High School, he was employed by the Olean School District, retiring after 32 years of service. He also operated his own construction business. He loved the outdoors and his many vehicles from a back-hoe to the snowmobile.
He is survived by his five children, Joseph (Jiaojiao) Fidurko, Patrick (Nicole) Fidurko, Paula (Alan) Bernstein, Brian Fidurko, and Garrett (the mother of the child, Erin) Fidurko. The love of his life, his grandchildren are Brielle and Delaney Fidurko and Stella and Perry Fidurko.
David is survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Valerie Goodwin, Janice (Timothy) Richardson, Thomas Fidurko, Edward (Debra) Fidurko, Marie (Gregory) Cummins, Susan (Hendrik) Van der Horst, Ann (Thomas) Kightlinger, Michael (Mary Beth) Fidurko, Christine (Robert) Bailey, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Smith along with a sister-in-law, Corlee Fidurko. Many loving nieces and nephews along with several great-nieces and great-nephews provide great joy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Fidurko, his brother-in-law, Paul Goodwin, and his first wife, Penelope (Ethridge) Fidurko.
The family would like to thank, Amber, Becky, Mary, Rosanne, Tiernney, Katie, and everyone at ECMC and Strong Memorial Hospital who assisted us over the last 770 days. You lightened his days and brought him strength and joy.
He was a member of the Pulaski Club, Allegany American Legion, Franklinville OB Club, Franklinville Snowmobile Club, Franklinville Conservation Club, and Belmont Off-Duty. David, an avid outdoorsman, was an NYS Hunter Safety Instructor and coordinated the stocking of the rivers and waterways each fish season for the Rogersville Rod and Gun.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department or the charitable organization of the donor’s choosing. David was a very charitable person helping many organizations and individuals. The family would like you to continue his legacy.
The family has requested friends of David join us at the Pulaski Club on Friday from noon to 3 pm located at 1104 N Union St, Olean, for a luncheon and celebration of David's life.
