Allegany- Dennis L. “Denny” Cole of 109 Nolan Drive, Allegany, passed away unexpectedly on Friday (September 3, 2021) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Born October 20, 1943 in Olean, Denny was the son of the late Victor and Jeanne Washburn Cole. He married Lillian Chase, who survives.
Denny was a graduate of Bolivar Central School. He was a self-employed coffee distributer for Dav-ed Gourmet Coffee until his retirement. After retiring, he was a courier for Community Bank.
He was an avid sports fan; especially for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and really enjoyed watching his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. He loved spending time with his family and socializing with his friends and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by; two daughters, Denise Emley of Portville and Dianna (Roland) Poissant of Riverside, R.I.; three grandchildren, Brandon Emley, Ryan Emley, and Randy Poissant; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Michael (Bernadine) Cole of Valparaiso, IN., Victoria Payne of Farmington, Terry (Jan Stayer) Cole of Portville, and Martha (David) Fitzsimmons of Portville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by; his son, Matthew Cole; one sister, Diane Cole; and a brother-in-law, David Payne.
Friends are invited to the River’s Edge United Methodist Church, 10 N. Main Street, Portville on Friday (September 10, 2021) from 11am until 12pm, at which time a memorial service will begin at noon. Burial will be in Main Settlement Cemetery, Ceres, and at the convenience of the family.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Rte. 16, Olean, or in memory of his son Matt, to the American Porphyria Foundation, 4900 Woodway, Suite 780, Houston, TX 77056.
