Dorothy A. Mazur

Olean- Dorothy A. Mazur, formerly of Nolan Drive, Allegany, passed away Friday (February 5, 2021) at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Olean, where she had been residing.

Born May 19, 1928 in Olean, she was the daughter of the late, Albert and Antonina Kraus Stavish.  On August 7, 1946, she married Michael Mazur, who predeceased her on October 21, 2011.

Dorothy was a graduate of Olean High School.  She first worked for the former Van Der Horst Corporation and then for the former, Loblaws Supermarket.  Dorothy later worked for and retired from the former Jayne’s Department Store.

Dorothy was a former member of Transfiguration Church in Olean, and recently attended St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany.  She was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing at St. Bonaventure Golf Course and Birch Run Golf Club.  She was a former member of the Pulaski Club auxiliary as well as a member of the Red Hats Society.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Susan Jurenko, of Olean.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings; Sister Laurentine Stavish, Albert Stavish, Michael Stavish, Mary Ackerman, John Stavish, Frank Stavish, Sophie Gibbons, Edward Stavish, and Walter Stavish.

Friends will be received at St. Bonaventure Church on Thursday (February 11, 2021) from 12:30-1pm. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm. Rev.
