Dorothy Lee "Dot" Edgar

Dorothy Lee Edgar, a devout and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend.

OXFORD, OH --– Dorothy “Dot” Lee Edgar, 92 of Oxford, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 2, 2025.

Dorothy was born on April 21, 1932, in Rocky Grove, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Mildred Snyder (nee Gillingham), stepdaughter of Herbert Cubitt. On December 26, 1953, she married her loving husband of 44 years, Robert James Edgar, who predeceased her on August 26, 1998.

Dorothy was a Registered Nurse graduating from Spencer Hospital School of Nursing in Meadville, PA. She was a caregiver her entire life as she lovingly raised her family of five children and supported her daughters in raising four grandchildren. She lived in many states including Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, and Ohio. She was also a world traveler visiting numerous continents and countries with close friends and family. She always wanted to know what was around the next bend in the road.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Shirley; her children, William, Susan (Jay), Sandra (Dan); her daughter-in-law, Roswitha; her grandchildren, Cyrus (Casey), Kaitlyn (Derrick), Abigail, Deidre; her nephews, Jim, John (Angie); her great-nephew, Raymond.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert James; her parents, Louis and Mildred; stepfather, Herbert; a loving son, Robert Allen; and a loving daughter, Janet Arlene.

Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Portville, NY. A service is planned for this summer.
