Cuba- Douglas L. Wise, of 5266 Maple Lane, Cuba, passed away March 22, 2021 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
Born November 28, 1957 in Belfast, he was the son of the late Melvin Leroy and Betty Jane Weaver Wise. He married the former Melinda Harbeck, who survives.
Doug was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1977 until 1989. He was a longtime member of the Cuba Amvets Post #1 and was also a member of the Amvets Riders Club.
He enjoyed watching Nascar, the Green Bay Packers, WWE wrestling, and NHRA Drag Races. He also loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fourteen years, Doug is survived by two daughters; Juliette Wise and Bridgette Wise Moore both of Austin, TX; four sisters, Marlene Wise Stapleton of Arizona, Melva Wise of Texas, Marilyn Comstock of North Carolina, and Pam (Dave) Karpenko of North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter; Jennifer Wise and one sister; Pat Caswell.
At Doug’s request, there will be no services.
