Edward J. Everetts, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather

Olean- Edward J. Everetts, of Olean, passed away Monday (December 16, 2024) at The Pines of Olean, surrounded by loving family, after a long illness.

Ed was born in Machias, on March 7, 1933, the son of the late Arlington and Edna Williams Everetts. On March 2, 1957, in Salamanca, he married the former Sharon Hitchcock. She predeceased him on October 6, 2014.

Ed graduated from Randolph High School in 1950. He joined the United States Navy and served from 1951 to 1955. Ed worked for the Olean Wholesale as a truck driver for many years. Ed was a big family man; he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He liked to go fishing, taking his grandchildren with him.

Ed is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Susan) Everetts; a daughter, Susan (Alan Wakefield) Hatch; grandchildren, Joshua (Jovanna) Everetts, Alyssa (Brian) Lamb, Eric (Jenn Richter) Everetts, and Logan (Cait Williams) Everetts; great-grandchildren, Easton, Raymond, Lincoln, Stevie, Callyn and Raylan; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon; parents, Arlington and Edna; three brothers; one sister; and son-in-law, Raymond Hatch.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Friday (December 20, 2024) from 11 am to 1 pm, with a funeral service starting at 1 pm in the funeral home, with Chaplain Terry Bush officiating. Burial to follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, with full military honors being accorded by the Allegany American Legion.
