Edward J. Kuzak, a man who served many, God, family, and country
Portville- Edward J. Kuzak, of Portville, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Olean on September 27, 1938, the son of the late Constance and Bernice Learn Kuzak. On July 20, 1963, in Olean, he married the former Carol Kayes, who predeceased him.
A graduate of Olean High School, Ed joined the United States Marine Corp. and served honorably from 1957 to 1960. He worked for Dresser Rand in Olean as a machinist. Ed was a master archery instructor for the DEC. After retiring, he worked part-time at BJ’s Wholesale. He was a member of the American Legion, Shinglehouse Post 530, and many other clubs in the area.
Ed is survived by his children, Tammy Skroback, Cindy (Joe) DuShaw, and Amy (Rob) Enos; grandchildren, Robert Skroback, Theresa (Tim) Hicks, and Jillena DuShaw; great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dickie (Vivian) Kuzak, Donnie (Marilyn) Kuzak, Nancy (Larry) Doner, and Joanne Corson; and nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, Michael (Sherri) Kayes and Joe (Nancy) Kayes, and sister-in-law, Esther Kayes.
He was predeceased by his wife Carol; his parents, Constance and Bernice; his son, Gary Kuzak; a granddaughter, Kayden Enos; and his sister, Betty Spears.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
