Allegany- Edward S. “Bud” Butinski, of 4115 S. Nine Mile Road, and a former Olean resident, passed away Monday (September 26, 2022) at the Absolut of Allegany.
Born February 4, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA., he was the son of the late John and Stephanie Basik Butinski. On September 1, 1962 at St. Joseph’s Maronite Church in Olean he married Joyce Ruby, who survives.
Bud attended St. Bonaventure University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. After his military service, he worked for Dresser Rand in Olean as an Industrial Engineer Programmer.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Maronite Church and the Olean American Legion Post 530. He also was the past President of the Olean High School Booster Club and coached little league for many years.
In addition to his wife of 60 years he is survived by; one son, Jon (Amy) Butinski of Cleveland OH; two grandsons, Joseph and Benjamin Butinski also of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Rosemary (Carl) Saglimben of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; two brothers Robert Butinski and John Butinski, Jr.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Thursday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday (September 30, 2022) beginning with a 9:30am prayer service in the funeral home, followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Church, 931 N. Union Street. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
