Eric G. Bowen         

Allegany- Eric G. Bowen of Allegany passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Eric was born in North Hornell, NY on November 13, 1973, the son of Gerald N. and Carolyn A. Bowen.

Eric was a 1991 graduate of Portville Central School. He attained his culinary arts certification and pursued his passion for cooking as a chef at the Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington. After returning to Olean, he continued working as a chef, most recently at Rafi’s Food Hub. Eric enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and the television quiz show, Jeopardy. 

Eric is survived by his mother, Carolyn; his sister, Dianne (Tom) Angley; his brother, Brian (Vanessa) Bowen; and his nieces and nephews, Alexa and Connor Angley, and Kahlee Hoyt and Aubree Bowen. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his father, Gerald Bowen.

A Celebration of Eric’s Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
