Eugene L. Robak, Sr., loving husband, father and grandfather
OLEAN — Eugene L. Robak, Sr., of 2649 McCann Hollow Road, Olean, passed away peacefully Tuesday (Nov. 2, 2022) at Olean General Hospital.
Born on July 14, 1936, in Olean, he was the son of the late Lucian R. and Stephania C. Kukulka Robak. On Jan. 10, 1959, at St. Johns Church, he married the former Josephine Capito, who survives.
After high school, Gene went on to become a chef. Over the years he worked at the former Castle Restaurant, St. Bonaventure Friary and St. Elizabeth’s Motherhouse.
Gene was a lifetime member of the Pulaski Club. He was also a member of Jamestown Rod and Gun Club.

He loved the time spent with grandkids and great grandkids.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Gene is survived by his six children, Catherine (Michael) Eisert of Vero Beach, Fla., Eugene (Kristin) Robak, Jr. of Little Genesee, Mary Jo (Christopher) Cashimere of Olean, Susan (Patrick) Eisert of Sevierville, Tenn., Robert (Katie) Robak of Kenosha, Wis. and Christine “Tina” (Tommy) Mann of Vero Beach; 18 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Marie (Dan) Woods of Portville, Lucian (Carol) Robak of Fort Mills, S.C., Patricia Casamento of Warren, Pa. and Nancy Eaton of Allegany; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Rita Malick.
Friends are invited to a prayer service at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 19, 2022) at St. Johns Church.
