Frank J. Montalbo, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
PORTVILLE --- Frank J. Montalbo, of Deer Creek Road, Portville, passed away Thursday (May 4, 2023) at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia, after a short illness.
Born February 15, 1932, in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Vito and Anna Nortornato Montalbo. In 1958, he married the former Evelyn M. Monroe, who predeceased him on February 4, 2023.
Mr. Montalbo attended Trott Vocational School in Niagara Falls. He then served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a service tech for Sears and later was employed for Cutco, retiring in 1997.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and farming in his free time.
Frank is survived by; three children, Angela (Judd) Wright of Olean, Kathleen (Mark) Schuessler of Bennington Center, and Ralph (Cyndi) Montalbo of Hickman, TN; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Parnella, Lucy Franciosa and Theresa Loftus; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife of 64 years, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Rocco, Joseph, Isabella, Joanna, and Anne.
A memorial service in Franks honor will be held at the Portville American Legion Post 814, 24 S. Main St, Portville, Saturday (June 17, 2023) at 1pm.
