George D. Werts, loving father, grandfather, son and brother
OLEAN --- George D. Werts, of Cherry St., passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 after a long illness.
George was born in Sayre, PA., on July 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Alice Housler Werts. George married the former Sally Ann Wise, who survives.
George graduated high school and joined the United States Army and fought in Vietnam in 1973. George worked at a taxi driver for Alle-Catt Taxi, for many years. He loved the outdoors and liked to go camping with his daughter. He also loved hunting and fishing.
George is survived by his wife, Sally; his children, Nichole Peters, Samantha, and Kristina; his grandchildren, James Hoca, Mariah Hoca, Avery Peters and Oakland Barber; his siblings, Kenneth Werts, Jean Collins, Shirley, and Nancy Peace.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Alice; and Alicia Dorenkamper.
There are no formal services planned for George at this time.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St, Olean.
