Glenna M. Whittam

“Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend”

Portville- Glenna M. Whittam, of 1421 Happy Hollow Road and formerly of 147 Grossman Ave., Olean, passed away on Friday (February 3, 2023) at the Absolut of Allegany, following a long illness.

Born December 16, 1930, in Olean, she was the daughter of John and Hazel Wheeler Wind.  On August 27, 1960, she married David T. Whittam, who predeceased her on January 3, 2009.

Glenna was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1949. She had worked for the former AVX Corp., in Olean, as a dental assistant, and as a home health aide. She most recently attended Olean Community Church.

In her free time, Glenna enjoyed camping, word searches, and doing puzzles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by; one son, Thomas J. Whittam; one grandson, Scott T. (Ashlee Zaljek) Whittam all of Portville; one granddaughter, Christina M. Whittam of Olean; four great-grandsons, Jesse, Donovan, Konner, and Zachary; her twin brother, John P. (Dolores) Wind of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Olean Community Church on Saturday (February 11, 2023) from 11am-1pm with a memorial service to follow at 1pm. Rev. Bryan Garrett, pastor will officiate.  Private burial services will be in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
