PORTVILLE --- Holly C. Fischer of Portville, passed away Wednesday (October 4, 2023) unexpectedly at home.

Born December 16, 1954 in Olean, she was the daughter of Clarence L and Velma M. Parker Norton. On April 16, 1999, she married Robert Fischer who survives.

After graduating from Olean High School, Holly went on to work at St. Bonaventure, the former Quality Markets and then worked with her husband Bob, at Fischer’s Auto Service. She also ran her own dog grooming business and would attend dog shows when able.

Holly was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Portville. With her love of nature and all creatures, especially dogs and cats, she belonged to the Pfiefer Nature Center, Portville Garden Club and The Nature Sanctuary Society of Western New York. 

Surviving besides her husband Bob; a special niece, Belinda Sherwood and several other nieces and nephews; three sister-in-law’s, Rita Fischer, Judy (Randy) McClaine and Sandy Canfield; and a brother-in-law, Tom (Diane) Fischer.

Holly was predeceased by her parents; a brother-in-law, Pat Canfield.

Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, 51 S. Main Street, Portville, on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday (October 9, 2023) at 11 am in the First Presbyterian Church of Portville, 19 N. Main Street, Portville, with Reverend Marilyn Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.

Memorials may be made to the Portville Fire Department or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
