James Herbert Frair, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather

Portville- James Herbert Frair went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February, 8, 2025 at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

James was born in Olean on November 13, 1935, the son of the late Orson and Eddeth Burdick Frair. On January 11, 1957, he married the former Anna Stickel, who predeceased him on October 15, 2015.

In his high school years at Portville Central School, James played football and was on the track team, he graduated from PCS in 1954. He worked as a farmer, worked for the Feed Mill Store in Olean, the Allegany County Highway Dept, and he retired from Hysol in 1995. James was an avid hunter. He attended worship services at the South Side Union Chapel in Olean. He loved to sing and tell everyone about Jesus.

James is survived by his seven children, Jeanie (Craig) Zilker, Marty (Brenda) Frair, Debbie (Bob) Lent, Brenda Brink (John), Jim (Debra) Frair, Sherrie (Al) Evans and Joe Frair.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Anna; his parents Orson and Eddeth; and a grandson, Ryan James Frair.                                                                                                                                 

Family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St. Olean, NY with a funeral service starting at 7 pm in the funeral home, with Rev. David Herne officiating. Burial will in West Genesee Cemetery in Obi.
