Olean- James “Jimmy” R. Trietley, 53, of Olean, passed away Monday (April 24, 2023) at home.
Born October 20, 1969, in Olean, he was the son of the late Richard C. Trietley, Sr., and Mary F. Washington Trietley.
Jimmy was a graduate of Olean High School and served in the military as a light wheel mechanic with the United States Army, having been stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado in the early 1990’s.
Jimmy was honorably discharged from the service and came home to help attend to his brother, Michael, and mother, Mary. He worked at Dexter/ Henkel Corporation for 16 years. After that, he was employed at Cutco Cutlery for the past 13 years.
Jimmy was a kind and generous spirit. He loved hunting, fishing, and dogs. He was such a gentle soul with all the animals that the Trietley household took into their home. Stretch, Buffy, Fred, Trouble, Midnight, Shelby, Libby, and Sabre were always his top priority.
Jimmy leaves behind; his brothers, Richard (Michele Rouleau) Trietley of La Crosse, WI, Michael Trietley of Allegany, and Gerald (Tracie Ackerman) Trietley of Olean; nephews, Richard (Shirali) Trietley of Houston, TX, Kyle Trietley of La Crosse, WI, Zachary Trietley of Olean, and niece Alexis Trietley, also of Olean.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, brother Joey Trietley, and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street on Friday from 4-7 pm and again on Saturday (April 29, 2023) from 9-10 am, a prayer service will be held at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion.
