Wellsville -Jeane Pisano, 79, most recently of Pittsford, NY passed away on Monday, July 19th 2021 at The Highland at Pittsford.
She was born on February 8th 1942 in Key Rock, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Sam & Mary (Ellison) Laxton. On June 3rd 1962, she married to Martin R. Pisano who preceded her in death May 2017.
Jeane was raised in Oceana, West Virginia and was a Graduate of Oceana High School. She joined the United States Air Force in 1961 where she met her husband of 54 years. After moving to 4 different states, they settled in Wellsville.
Jeane’s first love was raising her children. She worked for many of the downtown merchants where she enjoyed meeting new people. She grew to love the area and was an avid volunteer in the community. Most importantly, she was committed to her family & her church, Immaculate Conception. She was a Mercy Associate, Eucharistic Minister, had taught religious education and helped find and organize Bereavement luncheons. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, co-chaired 1 year for the Hospital ball and County Fair. She enjoyed her flower gardens and the unconditional love of her dogs: Cat, Freckles, Shadow, Noah and Dusty. She was known to clear the dance floor with her husband.
She is survived by; her two children, Michele Staple of Elmira NY and Mark (Norai) Pisano of West Henrietta NY. In addition are her four grandchildren; Michael (Kimberly) Overacker, Nicholas (Kenzie) Overacker, Jessica (Jeremy) Turner of Elmira NY and Mia Pisano of West Henrietta. Her great- granddaughters, Mikenah and Kailer Overacker, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Michael Pisano.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Wednesday from 11am-1pm and 4-6pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (July 22, 2021) at 10am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany.
