Franklinville- Jeffery A. Baker, 60, of Abbotts Road, Franklinville, passed away (Wednesday) August 16, 2023.
Born June 27, 1963, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary Frazier Baker.
Jeff worked the night shift for 13 years for the former American Lumber Co. in Holland. After its closing, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and start farming in 2001. The days were long and hard, but he was no longer “working for the man.” In 2018, Jeff semi-retired and sold the dairy cows and started raising beef cattle and selling hay to local farmers.
Jeff was well-known in the community and in his free time, he enjoyed collecting tractors and sitting on his porch watching traffic and cows. He also looked forward to visiting the local auction barn on Mondays with the love of his life Anna Secrist.
Jeff’s life was centered around Anna, his boys, and his grandchildren and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffery (Tamra) Baker, II and Shawn (Brianna) Baker; two grandchildren, Oliva Baker, and Reed Baker; two brothers, Steve (Cheryl) Baker and Benjamin Baker; one sister, Teresa (Skip) Hopkins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by; one sister Becky Secrist and one brother, Bob Baker.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Sunday (August 20, 2023) from 2-5 pm.
