Jennifer Skinner Obituary

West Clarksville- Jennifer L.  Skinner, 44, passed away Wednesday (September 27, 2023) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

Born February 21, 1979, in Olean, she was the daughter of John and Carol Gray. She married Dustin Skinner on December 21, 2002, who survives.

Jennifer worked at the Olean YMCA Daycare for many years, caring for all the “babies.” Over the years, she would see some of her Daycare babies out and about and love to tell them she took care of them when they were little. She never forgot any of them. When Sprague’s Maple Farms opened in Portville, Jennifer was one of their first employees. She worked in the kitchen for many years and even worked with her niece, Christina, and son, Dusty.

Jennifer’s most significant accomplishment in life was being a mom to her three sons and her niece, who recently came to live with them. These children were her entire world. Motherhood is a constant balancing act, but Jennifer found the beauty in the chaos and would not have traded it for anything. Even on her busiest days, her children were her priority. If Jen could look back at everything she did in life, her children are the best things she ever created. The best gift Jennifer can leave for her children is her forever love.

Jennifer is survived by three sons, Dusty, Colton, and Jacob; a niece, Maggie; her husband, Dustin; a special niece, Christina Nuzzo; her father, John Gray; one sister, Barb (Lou) Nuzzo; her uncle, Jason Layton; her best friend Kathy Karnuth; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Jennifer was predeceased by her mom, Carol Gray; one brother, Mike Gray; and an infant sister, Ann Marie Gray.

The family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (October 4, 2023) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Rev. Daniel Buringrud, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany.
