Jerry R. Colf

Olean- Jerry R. Colf, of Line St, passed away Wednesday (August 7, 2024) at the Olean General Hospital, after a long illness.

Jerry was born in Olean, at St. Francis Hospital on October 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie Klink Colf. On November 17, 1984 he married the former Mary Oszustowicz, who survives.

Jerry was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1964. He owned the Colf Carpentry Company for many years. He enjoyed his work and was honored to meet and make many wonderful friends through his business. Jerry was a fine craftsman in his work. Throughout Jerry’s entire life, he loved going to Chautauqua Lake. It was his favorite place in the world.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children, Annette (James) Rickey Olean, Charlotte (Matthew) Kaiser of Rockford, IL., Gerald Colf, and Robert Colf; grandchildren, Matthew Colf, Jake Rickey, Luke Rickey, Eleanor Kaiser, Ada Kaiser, Lainee Colf, Mason Colf and Johnny Colf; his siblings, Carolyn (Gary) Decko, Joseph (Rosemary Fowler) Colf, Donald Colf, Jr., and Kathy (Larry) Mayer; and cousin, Ronald (Karen) Ploetz.

He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Marjorie.

Family will receive friends Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 2 - 5 p.m., at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 East State Street, Olean. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 419 Laurens St. Olean. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
