Olean-Joan V. Jurewicz of 1106 Irving Street, Olean, passed away Wednesday (March 24, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born January 6, 1946 in Olean, she was the daughter of the late, John and Catherine Mondo Cyzeski. On February 19, 1966 in Olean, Joan married Ronald F. Jurewicz, who predeceased her on March 7, 2019.
Joan was a graduate of Olean High School and a devoted homemaker to her husband and children.
She was a devout catholic and a longtime parishioner of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and gardening. Most of all, she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters; Lisa (David) Ouderkirk, Christina (Shawn) Anastasia, Michelle (Rob) Givan, all of Olean; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Arron, Catherine, Brooke, Samantha, Anna- Elisabeth, Emma, and Norra; three great-grandchildren, Koldyn, Ella-Kay, and Veronica “Ronni”; two brothers, Paul and Jack Cyzeski; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jennifer Suchora.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brittany Noelle and a nephew, Jake Cyzeski.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels on Monday (March 29, 2021) at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
