John C. Eberle loving husband, father and papa
Olean- John C. Eberle, of Olean, passed away on Thursday (December 14, 2023) after a short illness at his home surrounded by his family.
John was born in Olean, on July 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Howard and Marjorie Richards Eberle. On November 25, 1972 he married the former Diane Kwiatkowski, who survives.
John graduated from Olean High School. He served for four years in the United States Navy, as a Communications Tech. John joined the Postal Service and worked as a Mail Carrier for the Olean Post Office, until his retirement.
He had a passion for building, he built and remodeled several places around the area. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting big white tails bucks, a lot of times shooting them right in their beds as he still hunted through the woods. His passion for the outdoors didn’t stop there. He also enjoyed catching big walleyes out of the Allegany River and native brook trout out of small tributaries in the area. He had several hobbies, to include restoring cars/motorcycles, woodworking, trap shooting, collecting antiques, and picking/joking with his family. Most importantly he loved his family and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Eberle, his children, Barbara Ann (Brad Hurlburt) Haskins, Jeffrey Michael (Jessica) Eberle, Molly Christine (Andrew) Buckvich, Jodi Lynn Agett, Sarah Marie Karnuth and Pamela Jean (Kody Beil) Wenke; seventeen grandkids, Christopher, Bayli, Jade, Colton, Kyle, Mikey, Aly, Katie, Tommy, Sammy, Ashley, Kelly, Natie, Jackie, Evan, Dylan, and Megan; two great grandkids, Delilah, and Landin; two siblings, Edward Albert Eberle and Cynthia Ann Eberle.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Bonnie Ouderkirk.
At this time, there are no services planned. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
