John R. Hamilton

Olean- John R. Hamilton of 1212 E. State Street, passed away unexpectedly on Friday (October 7, 2022) at the Buffalo General Hospital.

Born March 30, 1957, in Buffalo, he was the son of John Pochron and Irene (Robert) Hamilton. He married Debra Bestine, who predeceased him on October 5, 2020.

John was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He worked for many years at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and listening to heavy metal music.

He is survived by; his sons, Jason (Heather) Hamilton, Johnny (Aloma-predeceased) Hamilton; two sisters, Valerie (Robert) Kane, Paula Jane Fischer; special nephews, Alan and Derik Kane; one step-son Jesse (Sissa) Bestine; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

At John’s request funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
