Eldred, PA- John R. Worthington, Sr., of 846 Barbertown Road, Eldred PA., passed away Thursday (October 13, 2022) at the Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born November 4, 1942, in Elmira, he was the son of the late, Harley and Eunice Clark Worthington. He married Roxanne Gardner, who predeceased him on October 27, 2004.
John owned his own auto-repair shop in Eldred, PA., for many years. He enjoyed hunting, going to the casino, and yard sales. He also loved antique cars and going to car shows.
His is survived by; his longtime companion, Bernetta Damon of Eldred, PA; two sons, John R. (Tabitha) Worthington, Jr. and Wayne L. Worthington, both of Eldred, PA; two daughters, Jenenne Taylor of Lockport, and Denise (Dan) Breidenstein of Portville; three grandsons; ten granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, William (Tracy) Worthington of Florida, Lyle (Francine) Worthington of West Clarksville, Harold (Alice) Worthington of Portville; three sisters Diane Harvey, Connie (Donald) Sikes, and Audrey (Forrest) Sweitzer; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, John is predeceased by; one brother and three sisters.
Family will receive friends on Friday (October 21, 2022) from 10am-noon at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean. Funeral services will begin at noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Olean.
