Joseph DeYoe Obituary

Joseph DeYoe Loving Son, Soulmate, Grandson, Brother, Uncle and Nephew

Portville- Joseph Daniel DeYoe, of Portville, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2024. Joe was born on November 1, 1986 in Olean. He grew up in Portville, and was a graduate of Portville Central School Class of 2004. He attended Ohio Technical University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he met his fiancé and soul mate of 19 years, Brittney Davies. Together they built a life full of adventure with their loving dogs. Joey LOVED his family and was the most amazing son, brother, and uncle. He had a special place in his heart for each of his nieces and nephews, who lovingly called him Uncle Joe Joe.

He was employed at Northern Energy Service and Training as an Energy Auditor for the past 5 years. Joe had big dreams and cutting-edge ideas and knew how to make things happen. As an entrepreneur, he opened the lounge with ambitious dreams for the future.

Joe’s passion for the great outdoors was evident. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt, fish, trap, and forage. He had a great love of music and was always up for a concert, festival, or bonfire.

Known as a caring, giving person, Joe was always there to lend a hand. If he had something and you needed it, Joe was the first person to offer it up. He was known by many and truly touched the lives of everyone he met. Joe will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, infectious smile, friendliness, entertaining stories, and giving spirit.

Joseph DeYoe was born to parents, Tim DeYoe and Penny Marriott, and was blessed to be raised by Tim and Kathy DeYoe of Portville, and Penny and Ken Marriott of Williamson. In addition to his parents, he will be greatly missed by grandparents Paul and Dora DeYoe of Portville; grandmother Margaret Cowell of Bolivar; sister Lynn Langworthy (Jeremy Ellis) of Bolivar, sister Krystal (Tony) Travis of Portville; and stepsister Tiffany Catalano (Gananda); nieces and nephews Tyler (Austin Murphy), Maya, and Payton Graves of Bolivar and Toni Lee, Rosie, and Harland Travis of Portville; his dogs Roxi and Mister, and numerous friends who loved him like family.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Ernest Cowell, grandparents David and Frances Ouderkirk, aunt Janet Cowell Smith, and cousin Renea Button.

Family will receive friends from 1-3pm and 5-7pm Tuesday (May 7, 2024) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 South Main Street, Portville. A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday (May 8, 2024) at the West Genesee cemetery, Obi. The burial will be reserved for close family and friends.
