Salamanca- Joseph R. Terhune Jr. of Hillview Home, passed away on Wednesday (January 31, 2024) at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness.

Joe was born in Salamanca on December 14, 1958, he was the son of the late Joseph R. Sr. and Dixie Lee Meacham Terhune.

Joe graduated from Salamanca High School. He worked for the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino in various jobs. He was a fan of the Clevland Browns, always cheering his team on. He liked to play golf and played softball in high school years.

Joe is survived by his three children, Joseph R. Terhune III, Alyssa (Chris Burton) Hill. and Joshua Terhune; siblings, Kimberly Dorman, Bethann (Robert Barber) Sanford, and Amy Sanford; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews; also, his best friends, Becky and Frank Garrett.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Dixie; a sister, Lisa Rohwer; and a niece, Rachel Dorman Aldrich.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held for family and friends at a time and place to be announced. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
