Judith "Duggan" Yorke

“Loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend”

 Olean- Judith (Duggan) Yorke, of Indiana Avenue, passed away unexpectedly at the Olean General Hospital on Thursday (February 24th, 2022).

Born December 27, 1947 in Olean, she was the daughter of the late, Dr. Thomas and Gretchen Rees Duggan.  On May 28, 1982, in St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church in Olean, she married Stephen J. Yorke, who survives.

Judy was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1966. She attended SUNY Geneseo and graduated from Olean Business Institute.  She was a member of the Olean High School Alumni Association for over thirty years.

She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., for over thirty years, and retired from Duggan & Duggan General Contractor, Inc. after fourteen years of service in 2015.

Judy was a dedicated parishioner to St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church.  She was the Treasurer of the Church Council, and a member of their bereavement committee.  She also volunteered her time to all of their fund-raising events.  Judy was a member of the Olean Coasters, as well as a thirty- year member of Zonta, serving as treasurer from 2015-2017 and currently serving as a board member.

Judy enjoyed working bingo at St. Joseph’s Church, playing euchre, and loved her beach vacations.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. Her greatest joy came from doing good for others.

Besides her loving husband of forty years; Judy is survived by two brothers, Mel (Sue Chiapuso) Duggan and John (Kathy) Duggan; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her dear friends, John “Little Soupy” Kendzior and Jeffrey M. (Jenna Cargill) Kendzior;

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by; her special friends Linda Kendzior and John Kendzior.

A private family funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church in Olean.  A Celebration of Judy’s life will be announced at a later date.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
