Judy Lee Warnick, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister
Eldred- Judy Lee Warnick, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Sena Kean SNF after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born in Olean on December 5, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Mabel Bashline VanScoter. On November 19, 1983, in the United Methodist Church in Eldred, PA., she married her devoted husband, Joseph W. Warnick who survives.
A graduate of the class of 1962 Otto-Eldred Jr. Sr. High School, Judy went on to further her education as a beautician in Erie, PA. She enjoyed planning and attending class reunions throughout her years. Later she came back to open her own salon in her hometown. She eventually went on to work for many years at the Olean Tile Plant and when that came to an end, she discovered her greatest passion, babysitting and caregiving. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for children. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love created a second family among those she cared for, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
Judy was a member of the Eldred Boro Fire Department since 1981, becoming a life member of the ladies auxiliary in the year of 2002, and a life member of the fire dept in 2006. She held the treasury position along with the BINGO chairman position for many years during her time with the fire department. On top of this, she was also the treasurer for the Eldred Lamphere Cemetery. She enjoyed raising money for the Ron Houben and Memorial Parks in Eldred. Judy found immense joy in gardening and cooking, often sharing her love through her renowned fudge and macaroni salad. Her creativity was evident in her cherished collections of frogs, turtles, and angels, which brought her great delight over the years. She cherished all these things, but one of her favorite pastimes was playing Rummy with her husband Joe.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Joe W. Warnick; her three sons, Thomas B. (Danielle) VanScoter, Jeffery A. VanScoter, and Allen L. VanScoter; her four beloved grandchildren, Harlee, TJ, Brooke, and Breanna VanScoter. She held a deep love for all her grandchildren, whether by blood or bond; four brothers, Richard (Sue) Ours, Randy (Tina) Ours, and Lonnie Ours, all of Eldred PA and Rick (Dorothy) Ours of Olean NY; two sisters, Debra (Nick) Baker of Eldred PA and Claudia (Ray) Anthony of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Bonnie VanScoter; a brother-in-law, Lewis Green; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter M. and Mabel A. VanScoter, a brother, Howard VanScoter, two sisters, Patty Jane Ours and Sandy Green.
Family will receive family and friends on February 5, 2025, from 12 noon to 3 pm at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St. Olean, NY with a funeral service starting at 3 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
