Allegany- Kathleen Marie Paul (Sirianni) went to be with the Lord on Monday (October 24, 2022) after a short, yet courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born July 29, 1952, in Olean, she was the daughter of James and Mary Ann Quinn Sirianni. On June 15, 1974, at Christ United Methodist Church in Olean, Kathy married Hugh Paul, who predeceased her on August 4, 2020.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She retired from Olean General Hospital after almost 3 decades of service as a medical secretary in pathology. After retiring, Kathy would spend her days going to classes at the YMCA with her friends to stay fit… but, mostly to socialize. She loved having her family over for dinner, as long as everyone stayed out of the kitchen and allowed her to cook and clean in her own way.
Kathy was an active and devout member of St. Bonaventure Church where faith was a priority for her. She and her husband, Hugh were avid motorcycle enthusiasts and thoroughly enjoyed going on trips and riding with their friends. Both of them loved their property out in the country and worked hard to make it a beautiful place.
She is survived by; two sons, Jason (Carrie Gerwitz) Paul of Allegany and Jeremy (Lindsay) Paul of Johnson City, TN; two wonderful grandchildren that she was extremely proud of, Ethan J. Paul a sophomore at St. Bonaventure University, and Lennon Paul, who just celebrated her first birthday. She is also survived by her three brothers, David (Lorraine) Sirianni, Jim (Aileen) Sirianni, and John (Divinia) Sirianni, all of Cuba; along with many nieces and nephews, who she loved very much, and her beloved dog, Buddy.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents.
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean on Friday (October 28, 2022) from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Private services will be held in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main Street, Allegany.
