Laurence K. “Larry” Gay, loving son, brother, and uncle
Olean- Laurence K. “Larry” Gay of Olean, formerly of Portville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Springville after a long illness.
Larry was born in Olean on December 31, 1962, the son of the late William and Mildred Hollamby Gay.
A 1981 graduate of Portville Central School, Larry worked at the Olean Center Mall and later at Walmart in their maintenance departments. He also worked for several years at Olean Tile Comp. in the kiln. Larry was an avid Buffalo Sabres fan, and he also was a Miami Dolphins fan.
Larry is survived by his siblings, Roland (Mary Donovan) Gay, Ron (Cindy Perry) Gay, and Eleanor Gay; also one nephew, two nieces, two great nieces, and a great nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mildred.
Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 East State Street, Olean, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
