Mario Liberati loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather
Olean-Mario Liberati, of Olean, passed away Wednesday (February 7, 2024) shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital.
Mario was born October 8, 1929 in Sarnano, Italy to John and Elisa Fideli Liberati. On May 31, 1958, he married the former Patricia Muchler, who survives.
Mario had numerous jobs, but in 1948, he started a 43-year career at Dresser Rand, where he was known to all as Dresser’s Best Babbit Man. He was a former member of the Moose and Christopher Columbus Lodge. Mario loved to hunt and fish and was a founding father of the Enchanted Mountain Beagle Club. He enjoyed gardening and making his own home-made wine. Mario was proud of his Italian heritage
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Daniel (Jo-Ann) Liberati and David Liberati; two grandsons, Aaron (Karley) Liberati and Brent Liberati; and great grandson, Dominic Liberati; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Fiorinda Tardella, Oliva Pazzelli and Marfisa Denicola
Friends will be received at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State Street, Olean, on Sunday, (February 11, 2024) from 1-4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday (February 12, 2024) at St. John’s Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
