Mary L. Cottone

BOLIVAR --- Mary L. Cottone, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Absolut of Allegany.

Mary was born in Wellsville, on November 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Leola M. Blauvelt Mascho. On September 9, 1966, she married William D. Cottone, who predeceased her on August 11, 2017.

Mary obtained her GED and was so very proud of that. She loved traveling to Canada and Los Vegas with Bill. She had a dog Muffy that her and Bill enjoyed. Mary has a love of bird watching and enjoyed cardinals and hummingbirds. She was proud of being baptized in her home by pastor David Herne. Mary took a fondness of spending her time reading the Bible and Our daily bread. She and her cousin Marion, looked forward to their 10 p.m. nightly call with each other.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Harmon; three grandchildren, Michael, Chris and Natasha; and 12 great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; a cousin, Marion Stuck, a special friend, Steve Childs; and her friend and main care giver for the last eight years, LaRae Best.

She was predeceased by her husband, William; her parents, Chester and Leola; three brothers, Junior Mascho, Art Mascho, and Jim Mascho.

Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville on Saturday (August 3, 2024) from 10 – 11 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Chaplain Terry Bush officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar.

Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
